  PUD’s greatest achievement was drawing the attention of Egypt’s policy makers towards developing the North West Coast region for tourism purposes, which includes more than 500 km of beautiful sandy Mediterranean beaches. The main objective was allowing the average Egyptian citizen to be able to enjoy the Mediterranean beaches to achieve psychological, social and leisure benefits; in addition to attracting the international tourists to acquire tourism’s economic benefits.
